Cheteshwar Pujara broke a 52-year-old record to score most runs in a single Indian first-class season during the one-off test match against Bangladesh in Hyderabad on Thursday. Pujara needed 83 runs to beat the record before the start of the test match and he scored exactly the same before losing his wicket. Pujara has scored 1,605 runs in just 21 innings. The previous record was held by Chandu Borde who scored 1,604 runs from 28 innings in 1964-65.
