Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board will reportedly stop taking water from four reservoirs from next week. These reservoirs are Chembarambakkam, Cholavaram, Red Hills and Poondi. Water scarcity and dredging operations are reported to be the reason behind this operation. Notably, these water bodies supply nearly 65 % of the drinking water for the city. Meanwhile, Chennai Metrowater has also announced that it will bring the needed water from alternative sources in Thiruvallur and Neyveli.
