The Chennai city fire department on Friday afternoon reportedly started the demolition process of the fire-ravaged Chennai Silks building. The Corporation reportedly decided to demolish the building after structural engineers warned about the possibility of it crashing on one side. According to reports, the demolishers are using two mega 'jaw cutter machines' for the demolition. Meenakshi Vijayakumar, Deputy Director, TN Fire and Rescue Services reportedly said: ‘It will take three days to demolish Chennai Silks building.'
