The project to build a bridge in Pattabiram, Chennai-Thiruvallur high road over the level crossing is still under preparation while the sanction was obtained in 2011. With over 15 pairs of local EMU trains passing through the track to military siding, inconvenience is caused to the public because the traffic jams for a kilometer when the railway gates are closed. Reportedly the Southern Railway department is ready to start the construction but is waiting for state government approval on traffic diversion.
