Chennai Metro Rail Limited has announced the completion of the electrification work of the underground section between the Chennai Central station and Koyambedu of Corridor-2. Stations between Chennai Central to Koyambedu and Washermanpet to Saidapet will be underground covering a distance of 9.7 km and 14.3 km stretch respectively.
