The Centre will not impose any restrictions on people's choice of food, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Monday. The move comes after several states criticised the Centre for interfering in the people's choice of food, which is a fundamental right, through its new rules on cattle trade. Opposing the rule, two senior BJP leaders in Meghalaya quit the party, and the Meghalaya Assembly on Monday passed a resolution against the rule with the opposition voting in its favour.
