The Centre is reportedly set to provide free Wi-Fi facility in 1050 rural villages of India. According to reports, the government, under Digital Village’ initiative, will offer this service to the villagers by installing Wi-Fi hotspots. The project, costing around $62 million, is expected to provide essential development services to rural areas using digital technology.
