Following the severe criticism from the state political parties employees over the Centre’s decision to remove Pongal holiday from compulsory holidays’ list to optional holidays’ list, the Centre has reportedly revoked the decision. Earlier, opposing the Centre’s decision, DMK had announced agitation on January 11. AIADMK general secretary Sasikala urged the Centre to review its decision.
