The Indian government on Monday reportedly told the Supreme Court that it is planning to introduce an Aadhaar like unique identification number for cows. The government has submitted this proposal to restrict smuggling of cattle across India-Bangladesh border. According to reports, the Centre has also appointed a Committee headed by the Joint Secretary of the Home Ministry.
