The Centre has reportedly issued a notification to all the banks in India to collect the Permanent Account Number from account holders by February 28, 2017. According to reports, the notification, issued by the Central Board of Direct Taxes, also asked the banks to obtain Form 60, if PAN is not available. Notably, the new rule will not apply for Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana account holders.
