The Centre, on Friday, reportedly approved guidelines on service charge making the extra charges voluntary and not mandatory for the customers on a restaurant bill. According to reports, Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan made this announcement through his official Twitter handle. However, the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India has opposed the government’s move.
