The State Election Commission has reportedly informed the Madras High Court that it will not be able to conduct the local body elections in Tamil Nadu before the end of April. Earlier, the court had directed the Election Commission to conduct the civic body elections before May 14. Notably, the bypoll for R K Nagar constituency is scheduled to be held on April 12.
