The Singapore-based company has announced the termination of its e-commerce service in India. The company said in a statement to its customers: "Dear Shopee Users, we regret to inform you that the Shopee India platform will be ceasing operations with effect from 29 March, 12.00 AM (IST). Rest assured that all orders placed before this date will continue to be fulfilled as usual, and after-sale services and support will continue to be available to all users who have made purchases on our platform."
What is the reason?
The company's application has been removed from the Google Play Store and Apple Store following Shopee's announcement that it will discontinue its service in India. A spokesman for the company said in an interview that the decision was made "due to the lack of stability in the global trade market".
Denial
Earlier, the Government of India banned a Singapore-based application called Free Fire. Kareena has released the Free Fire app. These Kareena and Shopee companies are operating under the name 'Sea Limited'. It has been reported that the company will close the Shopee site after the free Fire application was disabled in India. The company categorically denies this.
