TRUMP GIVES RELIEF TO H1B, L-1 VISA HOLDERS AND ASPIRANTS - ANNOUNCES 'NEW SYSTEM' FOR ISSUING VISAS!
Home > News Shots > BusinessPresident Donald Trump on Friday announced that an executive order to bring a merit-based immigration system is soon to come into the framework.
“It's going to be a very big bill, a very good bill, and a merit-based bill and it will include DACA, and I think people are going to be very happy," said the president. "One of the aspects of the bill is going to be DACA. We're going to have a road to citizenship," Trump added.
While speaking to the reporters, he has said that he is willing to work with the Congress on a negotiated legislative solution to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) programme, one which would include citizenship, better security and merit-based reforms.
"Based on the powers that they (SC) gave, I'm going to be doing an immigration bill. One of the aspects of the bill that you will be very happy with, and that a lot of people will be, including me and a lot of Republicans, by the way, will be the DACA. It will give them a road to citizenship," Trump said.
“Switching away from this current system of lower-skilled immigration, and instead adopting a merit-based system, will have many benefits: it will save countless dollars, raise workers’ wages, and help struggling families –- including immigrant families –- enter the middle class. Protecting our workers also means reforming our system of legal immigration. The current, outdated system depresses wages for our poorest workers, and puts great pressure on taxpayers,” he said.
The president has also promised to increase oversight of H-1B and L-1 Visa programmes that are largely affecting Indians.
