To enable this functionality, the watch company has introduced a new Titan Pay solution where users can tap these Titan Pay powered watches on contactless payment POS machines to make payments. Also, this solution will only work for SBI Bank card holders.
"Now, make your payments fast, hassle-free, contactless, and from your watch. Presenting the all-new Titan Pay, a new-age collection of stylish timepieces from Titan," SBI took to social media and tweeted.
Just days ahead the festive season, Titan has introduced three new Titan Pay-powered watches for men and two watches for women. Looking into the price factor, the men's watches are priced at Rs. 2,995, Rs. 3,995, and Rs. 5,995. They come with black and brown leather straps and round dials.
While, the two women's watches are priced at Rs. 3,895 and Rs. 4,395 and they come in brown and black leather straps, respectively. You can get a look or buy these watches which are available on the Titan India website.
Here is how the new solution will work:
1) To avail this facility, a customer has to be a registered user for YONO.
2) According to the press release issued by the bank, SBI account holders can tap their Titan Pay watch on contactless payment POS machines without the need of swiping or inserting their SBI bank card.
3) Payments of up to Rs. 2,000 can be made without entering a PIN.
4) A secure certified near-field communication (NFC) chip embedded in the watch strap enables all the functionalities of a standard contactless debit card of the bank.
5) The payment feature on these watches will be accessible on over 2 million contactless MasterCard-enabled POS machines in the country.
