SBI asks employees to return money paid as \'compensation\' for overtime

The State Bank of India in a recent circular has asked about 70,000 employees of its associate banks who hadn't merged during demonetisation, the money back for compensation paid for working overtime during note ban period, says a report in India Today.

It cited that five employer banks were supposed to pay the compensation incurred for employees working overtime during the note ban period.

The State Bank of India is alleged to have said that only its own employees and not others of other banks are entitled to compensation due for working extra hours, as per the circular.
