After P Chidambaram moved a Delhi court for protection from arrest in the Aircel Maxis case, the court has reportedly told the Enforcement Directorate that action cannot be taken against the former Union Minister until the next hearing on June 5.
His son Karti Chidambaram is an accused in the case. The Enforcement Directorate is currently investigating the foreign investment clearance, which was granted in 2006 for the Aircel-Maxis deal. Notably, Chidambaram was Finance Minister in the Congress-led central government at that time.
