GOOD NEWS! MICROSOFT TO SET UP A 4,000 EMPLOYEE CAMPUS IN INDIA SOON: REPORT!
Home > News Shots > BusinessGiving a major boost in bringing investments in India amid the coronavirus crisis, Microsoft India has decided and agreed to bring its next campus of 4,000 employees in Greater Noida. This good news was announced by the Uttar Pradesh government yesterday.
As per Economic Times report, the virtual agreement by Microsoft India MD Rajiv Kumar took place after a discussion with the state's MSME minister Sidharth Nath Singh. It will soon be looked into after a site visit that will be conducted by Microsoft.
"The company has said that they want to move their North India campus to Greater Noida. The next step will be a site inspection by the team both in Greater Noida and along the Yamuna Expressway followed by their proposal which the state government will examine," Singh told ET. Meanwhile, the minister has not indicated the scale of the planned investment.
Currently, Microsoft has two campuses of capacities of 5,000 and 2,000 each in its headquarters in Hyderabad and in Bengaluru.
UP plans to develop an electronics manufacturing park near the Jewar International Airport along the Yamuna Expressway that connects Greater Noida with Agra and companies planning to start manufacturing will be entitled to subsidies and incentives by the state, ET further reports.
Reports also suggest that other companies like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Wipro and Haier are also planning with the state government in investmenting in the Noida/Greater Noida regions.
