FAMOUS IT COMPANY IN CHENNAI GAVE OVER 3,000 EMPLOYEES A SMALL SURPRISE: SEE WHAT & WHY?
Home > News Shots > BusinessWith work from home being the new normal, most of the working professionals have been doing their best for the company from home. Amid all the crisis, many executives have actually been working 24/7.
Taking this into consideration, software major Freshworks gave an extended weekend to its employees on July 24. Yesterday, the entire company was shut.
As per a LiveMint report, the reason the management gave for an extended week off was for its employees working extra hours from home during the pandemic.
So after having a good quarter, the company felt its employees deserved a break. The company further claimed that it was a pure coincidence that the Friday they chose turned out to be July 24 (24/7) as a date, LiveMint further reported.
“Given that we talk so much about work-life balance, we thought we should get everyone to take a day off and have the entire company shut down,” said Suman Gopalan, Chief Human Resource Officer, Freshworks, told CNBC-TV18.com.
“Recognising the stress, the company gave this day off. Work from home does not mean that since employees were at home, they needed to work the whole day,” he added.
Amid this pandemic, freshworks has adopted multiple initiatives to create an employee friendly environment like allowing family members or pets to drop in during video calls as all are working from home. Not just that, the company is also recognising the hard work employees are putting in and is also looking to recognise the adjustments from family members.
