Home > News Shots > BusinessLeading E- Commerce site Flipkart on Tuesday announced that it is planning to offer 90- minute deliveries under a new service called Flipkart Quick. The Walmart-owned retailer will be delivering groceries and home accessories within 90 minutes.
Flipkart said that this is going to be a hyperlocal service and is also planning to sell mobile phones and stationery items, which is ahead of other e-commerce sites since most of the sites predominantly do quick delivery only for groceries.
Flipkart Quick will be available in few areas of Bengaluru.
"Halfway through the year of the pandemic, supply chains have transformed drastically," Flipkart said in a statement. "The hyperlocal category, known for being a convenience for many, has now emerged to be a long-term essential service for the country."
Earlier, Flipkart acquired Walmart’s local cash-and-carry business in order to strengthen its wholesale offerings to mom-and-pop-stores.
