WILL THIS INDIAN APP REPLACE TIKTOK? APP CROSSES 15 MILLION DOWNLOADS ALREADY! DETAILS
Home > News Shots > BusinessWhile TikTok stars are disheartened about the ban of the app, many are willing to look for Indian alternatives. Chingari is one such example. The social networking app has been witnessing around 2-3 million downloads per day following the bad and in total it had 15 million downloads as of Friday. Although it has emerged as successful player recently, the app has been in the market since 2018.
“There are three major things that the Indian public consumes — entertainment, news, and games — and Chingari has all three,” says Sumit Ghost, co-founder and Chief of product and growth of Chingari.
The app is trying to garner the talent of creators who are shifting from TikTok to their platform. “While our current focus is to make a great product, in the near future to make sure that our content creators get paid, we will have advertising and focus more on marketing. Feature addition is always a part of the roadmap, as we move forward,” he told Financial Express.
The app pays creators based on the popularity of their videos so it comes handy to creators. For every video that users upload, they get points per view which can be redeemed for money.
Other Indian alternatives to TikTok include Mitron, Ropose, Dubsmash and Bolo Indya.
