Following the demise of IUML Lawmaker E Ahmed, Lok Sabha Speaker, Sumitra Mahajan, condoled the death of the former but asserted that the 2017 Union Budget would be presented on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu, along with Mahajan, said the Union Budget was a constitutional obligation, and there should be no controversy over it.
