Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) authorities imposed a 10-year ban on the bowler Sujon Mahmud on Tuesday. Mahmud was found guilty of bringing the game into disrepute as his team deliberately lost a match by conceding 92 runs in four legal deliveries in protest of poor umpiring decisions. Lalmatia Club was barred indefinitely from competition, with their coach, captain, and manager punished with five-year bans from the Dhaka Second Division League. Lalmatia Club was dismissed for just 88 off 14 overs before opponents Axiom Cricketers reached 92-0 in 0.4 overs. Sujon bowled 13 wides and three no-balls in the first over and conceded 80 runs.
