Higio Gungtey, a 22-year-old student from Arunachal Pradesh, was allegedly assaulted by his landlord in Bengaluru and was also forced to lick his shoes for using excessive water. The landlord Hemanth Kumar was drunk when the incident took place on March 6, Gungtey alleged. Police have reportedly filed a case and are investigating the matter. Commenting on the incident, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju termed it “saddening”.
