The government of Karnataka on Thursday has reportedly issued a release welcoming Apple Inc.’s proposal to set up a manufacturing unit at Peenya in Bengaluru. India will be the third country in the world to manufacture Apple iPhones. Local manufacturing will help Apple to lower its price in India as it is currently attracting 12.5% additional duty on imports.
