E-commerce major Amazon India has announced that it has received RBI’s approval to launch its digital wallet. The prepaid payment instrument licence will allow Amazon to take on established e-wallets such as Paytm and Freecharge. “This will allow us to help customers adopt digital payments at scale and thereby contribute towards making India a less-cash economy," said Amazon India's Payments Vice President.
