A sample survey conducted by SaveLIFE Foundation found that six out of every 10 people with a driving licence in India never actually sat behind a wheel to get it. The survey was conducted across 10 cities in India, including the five metros, which have the highest vehicle population. 88% of the respondents in Agra admitted they did not give a driving test, while it is 72% in Jaipur and 64% in Guwahati. Also, about 54% in Delhi and half of the respondents in Mumbai too gave this mandatory test a miss, the survey reportedly said.
