The District Rural Development Agency reportedly built 4,666 toilets in 121 villages around Perambalur district in just 48 hours under the Swachh Bharat Mission to provide all rural households with individual toilets. The total cost of the work was Rs 7.20 crores with 6.60 lakh for hollow cement blocks, 3.60 lakh for concrete cement rings and 30,000 cement bags were utilized for the construction of toilets. Reportedly, The coordinator of DRDA, Raja Boopathi added that they had to build total 78,635 toilets by March, of which 46,166 toilets had been built.
