3,000 crores allocated for new voting machines

The Indian government on Wednesday reportedly agreed to release 3,000 crores to buy new electronic voting machines. Known as VVPAT, the new voting machines will be capable of printing a receipt for each vote cast. Notably, the decision comes at a time when voting machines are suspected of being vulnerable to corruption
