According to reports, at least 20 people were killed on the spot, and 20 others were injured on Friday after a truck crashed into a group of protesters, cars and shops. The incident happened at around 1:45 pm at Yerpedu, about 25 km away from Tirupati in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. People gathered in front of the Yerpedu police station to stage a dharna to demand action against illegal sand mining in the area.
