The nation has about 137 police personnel to secure every one lakh people, the government reportedly told Parliament on Tuesday. As on January 1, 2016, this number stood at 180 police personnel for every one lakh people. A sum of 298 VIPs and VVIPs are being provided central security cover below several categories, the government added.
