THONDIMUTHALUM DRIKSAKSHIYUM MOVIE REVIEW CLICK TO RATE THE MOVIE

'Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum' or 'The evidence and the eyewitness' is a Malayalam drama thriller written by Sajeev Pazhoor directed by Dileesh Pothen. It is Pothen's second film after the blockbuster and National Award winning film Maheshinte Prathikaram. Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum has many specialties; popular filmmaker Rajeev Ravi is the cinematographer and Syam Pushkaran who wrote Maheshinte Prathikaram is the creative director of the film.

Produced by Sandeep Senan and Anish M Thomas under the banner Urvasi Theaters, the film tells the story of Prasad (Suraj Venjarammood) and Sreeja (Nimisha Sajayan) who hail from a small town in Alleppey. They fall in love, get married and come to Kasargod as Sreeja's parents were against their marriage. While traveling in a KSRTC bus, a thief (Fahadh Faasil) steals Sreeja's chain and the people in the bus decide to take him to the nearby police station. The turn of events after they reach the police station forms the crux of the movie.

Realistic performances by almost every artist are the best thing for a movie which is a bit lagging at times. The screenplay is very much like real life and at some places in the first half, it becomes a bit flat. But the timely placed counter dialogues and expressions delivered flawlessly by Fahadh and team keep the audience hooked to the screen. Other than Suraj Venjarammood and Alancier Ley Lopez, there are many new faces in the movie, including Nimisha Sajayan, the lead lady. Everyone has delivered their best, but Fahadh's natural acting and highly expressive eyes steal their thunder.

Cinematography by Rajeev Ravi is good and the color tone used has a natural Kasargod feel in it. In the music department, the songs in Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum is simple, yet enjoyable. The background score has the required fun element and supports the humor situations.

The huge expectation from a movie made by the director of Maheshinte Prathikaram, having Fahadh Faasil and National Award winner Suraj Venjarammood in the lead roles, with Gangs of Wasseypur/Udta Punjab/Dev D cinematographer Rajeev Ravi cranking the camera, might have a detrimental effect on the audience as Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum is a bit different. It is realistic, it has humor, it has emotion and moreover, some good performances. Go without expecting a Maheshinte Prathikaram and it will be a good watch.
