ORE MUKHAM MOVIE REVIEW
Dhyan Sreenivasan - Aju Varghese combination is back with yet another campus thriller set in the 80s titled Ore Mukham. The directorial debut of Sajith Jagadnandan, Ore Mukham, is produced by Jayalal Menon and Anil Biswas and scripted by Deepu S Nair and Sandeep Sadanandan.
The plot of the movie revolves around Zachariah Pothen, an arrogant rich student in the campus of the 80s. Pothen is highly unpredictable and is willing to go to any extent for his friends. The film is set in two timelines, a police officer, and a journalist trying to solve the murder of an NRI businessman Aravindan Menon which in a way is connected to another murder case from the 80s involving Zachariah Pothen.
High in potential but low in execution, the movie is not as gripping as the makers would have wanted it to be. Amateurish direction and over dramatic dialogues make the screenplay less interesting. Some well executed comic sequences add color to the second half, while the first half remains comparatively dull. Overall the movie has a good story that could've become a good thriller with some good changes and a better preparation.
Dhyan Sreenivasan has pulled off Zachariah Pothen pretty decently and Aju Varghese, Chemban Vinod, and Deepak Parambol have done justice to their roles. Prayaga Martin is beautiful and her natural acting is impressive. Sneha, Abhirami, Jewel Mary and Maniyanpilla Raju handle their roles neatly.
Cinematography by Satheesh Kurup is good. The music department handled by Bijibal is not up to the mark and does not leave any impact. The songs are average and the background score too has close resemblance to many previous tracks.
