Mersal teaser crossed 6 lakh likes to become the world's most liked teaser on YouTube. It has managed to pull off this feat in less than 4 hours.
According to YouTube display views, Mersal teaser crossed 3 million views in 4 hours which is staggering count for any big hero film. The real-time view is said to be around 7 million.

Mohanlal's Villain to release for Diwali on the 19th of October. Vishal has also played a pivotal role in this Malayalam film. Vijay's Mersal would be releasing on the 18th. So Mersal would have a tough competitor at Kerala box office.
It must be noted that this is the 3rd time Vijay-Vishal films are releasing at the same time. The previous occasions were:
Pokkiri - Thaamirabharani (2007 Pongal)
Kaththi - Poojai (2014 Diwali)
