Suresh Poduval is a veteran screenplay writer, who had written movies such as ‘Manthrikumaran’, ‘Deepasthambham Mahascharyam’, ‘Nadan Pennum Naatupramaniyum’ and many TV serials. The ace writer has now tried his luck on directing a movie — ‘Ulta’. His debut movie has young actor Gokul Suresh and Prayaga Martin in lead roles.
In an interview with Behindwoods Ice, the director said that, his new movie is all about a village Ponnapuram, set in northern Kerala, which has women as heads of all departments, including the village head and Sub Inspector of police. Speaking more about the movie, he said that his movie speaks of women empowerment.
According to the director, the movie is a message to the society, which recently had a difference of opinion in all the areas, including the caste issues, men-women tussle on various issues and among political parties. Suresh said that, this is a recent trend and he felt that it is the ‘right subject’ to do a movie.
The director who was vocal about the movie said that, the movie will be a turning point in the career of Gokul Suresh, who does a crucial role in the film. Suresh added the movie is an entertainer and has mass elements in it. The movie is produced by Subhash Sipy and the cinematography is handled by Prakash Veleayudhan. Surabhi Lakshmi, Anusree, Thesni Khan, Iv Junais, Ramesh Pisharody are part of the cast of this comedy flick.
