What is it about?
Aamir Khan's 'Secret Superstar' was one of the most expected films from Bollywood. After Dangal, Aamir Khan announced that he would be producing and also staring in Secret Superstar and it was also believed that the film is high on social relevances. Finally, the film hit the screens on Diwali and indeed the film just hit hard on various other factors that every common man can connect with. Secret Superstar is about a girl who wants to become a  rockstar. The film speaks about the family issues that a girl would undergo and a typical father, who would restrict their family by experimenting anything new on the fear of what society would talk about them.

What makes the film?
The main character played by Insia ( Zaira Wasim) will make all of us remember our school days. Insia who has least interest in studies has a big dream to become a singer and to express her interest in music to the world. She shoots her talents and uploads them on Youtube, and she also knows the consciences of what would happen if her father gets to know about her activities. Insia smartly covers her face with Burkha and then showcases her talent. Her dream soon comes to reality, and she becomes the talk of the town and her fans have the curiosity to see her identity and would want to know the Youtube star. What happens next becomes the plot of the film.

What didn't work?
There are minimal factors which didn't work in the film. Aamir Khan has a very little screen presence in the film, but as always he scores big. One of the major flaws of the film would be the predictability of the next scenes. Secret Superstar is a motivational film which has a packed enthusiast goosebump moments that most of us can connect and maybe because of this, there is that predictability factor in the film which may be a let down to a few section of audiences.

What worked?
'Secret Superstar' has a lot of takeaways. The film talks about parenting, being ambitious, society and much more. A story of an underdog who dreams big and who accomplishes it. Director Advait Chandan's research about the storyline and a straightforward way for delivering a hard-hitting message to the masses have worked brilliantly, and that makes this film very impactful and makes it a must watch for youngsters.

Well?
Secret Superstar has a good message, with high performances from Zaira Wasim, Meher Vij, and Aamir Khan. The film talks about struggle, domestic abuse, society and much more.
