It
could also be depicted as Mani's way of
fictitious manifestation of epic character,
Raavanan. From the scenes of lifting corpse
(Priyamani) by cot, Mani emits, a good
ruler respects womanhood. Karthik tested
his breath and life of magical scenes
of "usire poguthu." His ever
classy vocal performance survived well
beyond silver screen. (Anjala of Vaaranam
Aayiram is another different sensual flick
from him in folk tune).
Shot of admission of conflicting emotions
by Ash is striking and moving. Background
score could have added more revelation.
Needless to say, the continuing shot of
appearance of Vikram is brilliantly bridged
by Oscar maestro in that way.
Vairamuthu & Maestro made it overwhelming
when small quantum of timeframe is offered
to them to picturize beautiful & fictional
musical scores. Mani is a specialist to
insert song sequence to radiate feelings
and often, he slots part of them in order
not to overdo. I feel, Mani just likes
to set it triggered and the rest lies
in rumination of his partisan.
Mani/Suhasini could have let the reunion
of Ash with Prithvi more implied. Length
of dialogue exhibits a bit of indictment
of Ramayana. He eventually touches whole
of societal grid as well!
Rating: Honestly, I fail to rate. I am
yet to find column B. Each delivery of
Mani is respectably taller. |

Shobana's choreography is splendid and of course,
it’s a visual as well as romantic treat!
Climax composition of "Naan varuven" is
mesmerizing.
Raagini (Ash) kept her nuptial values throughout.
Being shown as outgoing and confident woman, there
may have been certain confusion in realizing this
superbly crafted work of Mani. (This part is orthogonally
different when compared with Roja). Raagini lived
in forest for a while and got to witness both personal
and tasking life of Raavan whereas she had no such
direct sensation of her husband's profession.
That lands her in kind state to Raavan. Even while
Raagini confesses disbelief of her husband to Raavan,
Raavan would not agree to it. Climax sets in here...
That sequence is set perfectly by Mani.
Somehow, I feel, Maestro could have scored re-recording
well in certain scenes!
And we evidently miss the giant writer, Sujatha
