I am a diehard fan of Ilayathalapathy Vijay. I read the article “Ilayathalapathy fanatic’s open letter to all Vijay Fans” .I want to tell to Mr.Vikram about the article what he had written. First of all, I thank Mr.Vikram for accepting Vijay as the mass hero and curse him for not understanding about his fans. Now Vijay is the only hero after SUPER STAR who has the ability to bring family audience to the theatre. About 50% of his fans are mainly children and women. So he cannot do movies like Ratha Charithram (strictly for youths) or even movies like Mankatha (also mainly for youths). But he can do movies which attract both youngsters and family people like Ghilli, Tirupachi, Pokkiri, Kavalan and now VELAYUTHAM.

VELAYUTHAM is a clean family entertainer. It is turned out to be a super hit not   just because 7am Arivu did not work as you said in your article. Then answer me why Vijay’s “Aadhi” did not do well at the box office. Aadhi is released for Pongal (2006). The other movies released were “Paramasivan” and “Saravana” and both of them were disasters. Then Aadhi should have been a sure hit according to you. Why Aadhi was also a disaster? One movie can run well only if it is a good one and not by comparing it with other movies. Velayutham is a good movie. Velayutham will be definitely a hit even if it is released at any time.

The movies which impress youths alone will not get to be a super hit. One great example is “Muni-2 (Kanchana)”. That movie did not greatly impress youths but went out to be a massive hit because of the family audience. Similar case for Velayutham also. Vijay fans are completely satisfied with Velayutham. According to trade report Velayutham has grossed 52 crores in 7 days and 7am Arivu 50 crores. This confirms that Velayutham is a blockbuster.

Talking about the fans of Vijay, as mentioned earlier, he has both youngsters and family audience as his fans which is really a gift given to him by God. We the fans will accept only good movies from Vijay. Some may like Velayutham and some may not. But for Vijay’s fans this movie is a treat and a feast. The upcoming movies for Thalapathy are Nanban (Shankar), movie with A.R.Murugadoss, Yohan (Gautham Menon) and a movie with A.L.Vijay. These movies will definitely prove Vijay as also a good actor. I am proud to say that I am a diehard fan of Ilayathalapathy Vijay and not a fanatic.
