Hi
all,
Let me first clarify that I cannot do
justice to Nandalala movie or its creator
by reviewing it, because it is a movie
par excellence. So, I just want to share
my experience about this movie. Director
Mysskin who has proved his mettle by making
films like Chithiram Pesuthadi and Anjaadhey
is back with a bang. He is one of the
very few directors who can get rave reviews
and also pull crowd for his films and
this movie is no different.
The movie starts off with two kids looking
out for their respective mothers who had
left them for different reasons. One kid
is Akhilesh (Master Ashwath Ram), a school
student, who needs to see his mother just
to hug and kiss her once. The other kid
is Bhaskar Mani(Mysskin).I call Bhaskar
Mani a kid because he is mentally challenged
and

he
needs to see his mother to slap her and know why she
left him alone in a mental asylum and never returned.
The rest of the story is about how they both get together
and the journey in search for their mothers. During
the journey, they encounter various interesting people.
There are many heart warming scenes involving those
people.
I cannot even imagine anyone else playing the role
of Bhaskar Mani instead of Mysskin. I feel that Mysskin
clearly understood that he cannot rope in anyone for
that powerful role created by him and do justice to
that role. Hence, we got actor Mysskin. Mysskin has
lived in that role and also directed the film with
ease. Master Aswath Ram has essayed his role beautifully
with neat expressions. Snigdha has played her brief
role convincingly.Ilayaraja has proved yet again why
he is the Maestro. His music and voice are very soothing
and prove to be a boon for the movie.
There is no surprise in the fact that this movie was
lying in the cans for more than a year. After all,
even diamonds are buried deep inside the earth's surface
for several years before they are taken out. This
movie is as precious as a diamond and even more. Hats
off to director Mysskin for giving us this wonderful
film in spite of facing all the ordeals in releasing
this film.
Cheers,
Sai Shyam G.
