Be it from “Paa” to “No one Killed Jessica”, “Ishqkiya” to “The Dirty Picture” and to the latest “Kahaani” the amount of transition that Vidya shows in the screen is amazing. During the last year the amount of revenue generated by ‘The Dirty Picture’ has been found to be higher than abig hero movie. Though it is notable that during the last year some movies showed promising performance from the female leads but when coming to our very own Tamizh Cinema in thiscurrent scenario no heroin is showing such transition between movies. Tamizh Cinema has always encouraged talents. Now-a-days even a movie with all new comers, low productions is getting great welcome from the audiences. Take for example a heroin like Saritha who created a market for herself only by means of heracting, be it Sridevi who did solid roles in many movies like ‘Sigappu Rojakall’, ‘Johny’, ’16 Vayathinilae’, ‘Moondram Pirai’,be it Simran in movies like ‘Paarthen Rasithean’, ‘Vaali’, ‘Thulladha Manamum Thullum’ or Jothika in ‘Mozhi’, ‘Pachaikili Muthucharam’and finally Sneha in ‘Pirivom Sandhipom’, ‘Pudhupettai’ – these people showed a lot of transition between movies. Nowadays most of the heroin’s are considering the solid role as a base for enteringthe film wagon and after getting those strata they are changing their tracks to so called safe bets called commercial films. It is hightime that our heroin should come out accepting challenging offers and carve a niche for themselves and adding to the pride of “Tamizh Cinema”.
