With
‘Chennai 600028’
and ‘Saroja’ spelling
out sensational music, ‘Goa’
has been keeping up our expectation
values to a greater magnitude
and now they’re out with
the same best results from the
duo. Songs delivered by lots
and lots of singers from yesteryear
and present generations itself
engross us vividly. Right from
Ilayaraja, SPB, and Chitra to
the contemporary actresses Andrea
and Mamta Mohandas, there happens
to be an attention-grabbing
attribute. The album goes inclusive
of two genres: South based folk
music and peppy western works.
Yelelu Thalamuraikkum.....
Singers: Karthik
Raja, Venkat Prabhu, Bhavatharini,
Premgi Amaran & Yuvan Shankar
Raja
A self-aggrandizing song about
the ‘Raja’ family!!!
The song is crooned by siblings
that centers about their family’s
adherence towards musical knowledge.
Yuvan has tuned the melody completely
with slow-paced village folk
song. It sounds almost like
Ilayaraja’s 80s pattern
and will surely evoke the interests
of universal listeners.
Ooru Nalla Ooru...
Singers:Ilayaraja
And again, there’s yet
another ‘Ilayaraja’
factor. The maestro himself
renders this song and beats
are orchestrated perfectly with
melody parts. The lyrics are

pathos-centric and the song is expected
to be placed at pre penultimate portion.
Adida! Nayaandiya...
Singers:S
P Charan & Yugendran Vasudeva Nair
Here’s
a typical village festival number with the
resemblance of yesteryear style (inherited
from his father’s touch). Well, SP
Charan and Yugendran prettify the song with
more sprightliness. If rich visuals of hamlets
are canned, then this number is sure to
strike everyone’s attention.
Goa...
Singers:
Krish, Ranjith, Tanvi, Suchitra, Chynk Showtyme
& Pav Bundy
If
at
all, you had presumed this album completely
to be overwhelming with countryside folk
song, here comes a sudden surprise with
a unique vogue of change. ‘Goa’
sways you into zippy, bouncy spirits with
its sparkling trait. Just take a look over
the singers’ list and you’ll
judge the song sans heeding to it.
Idhu Varai...
Singers: Ajeesh & Andrea
Prevalently fashioned tune of Yuvan Shankar
Raja: more vitality exists on both vocalism
and instrumentals. Followed by his previous
composition Telugu song ‘Oye’
(sang by actor Siddarth himself), Yuvan
has used live drums. Interludes with stringed
instruments enhance the song, which seems
to be a live performance over the visuals.
Andrea has to modulate her voice as she
keeps rendering all numbers with same phonation
while Ajeesh scores brownie points.
Vaaliba Vaa Vaa...
Singers: Ilayaraja,
S. P. Balasubramaniam & Chitra
A jollifying melody delivered by Ilayaraja,
S.P Balasubramaniam and Chitra that sounds
to be one-one style. Kudos to Yuvan Shankar
Raja: he makes sure that the lyrics are
utterly clear with accordance to instrumental
realms.
Kadhal Endral...
Singers: Yuvan Shankar Raja
The song carries exact trademark
of Yuvan Shankar Raja with a mind-boggling
orchestration of instruments. Just heed
to the running-stringed instruments on the
accompaniment. Though the song doesn’t
prolong for more than 90 seconds, you’ll
find lots of detailed works projected by
the musician.
Idaivazhi Oru...
Singers: Benny Dayal & Mamtha
Mohandas
Much alike dissimilar poles, ‘Idaivazhi
Oru’ is an eroticizing number that
may capture the interests of youth cohorts.
Yuvan could’ve avoided Benny Dayal.
The voice sounds to be more unapt as he
seems to have overemotionally hyperactive.
Mamtha surpasses with her sensuous appeal
over her part.
Goa (Club-Mix)...
Singers: Yuvan Shankar Raja
For the party animals, who yearned
to shake their legs for a peppy Tamil song,
Yuvan has it for you all. Lots of techno
beats and fill-ins would just create mania
across dance floors….
As on whole, ‘Goa’ has more
probabilities of making it big for the season
as the songs are quite enjoyable. Yuvan’s
biggest strength is about opting for unusual
combinations of singers and musical stroke.
VERDICT:
Could be a hat-trick for Yuvan-Venkat
