Dear
Friends,
All we know about Rajini is that he is
a superstar. The word superstar has been
defined differently because of Rajini
itself. To be blunt, I am not a huge fan
of Rajini. However I like his old movies
a lot. Especially movies like ‘Thillu-mullu,
thambiku entha ooru’ are very familiar
to this date for many. These movies have
become a cult in our place as well. The
reason is not only the story line, but
also Rajini performed as a romantic hero
in these movies has acquired this fame.
To this date his fame and glory hasn’t
diminished a little. In 1990’s his
movie ‘Muthu’ again created
such an impact that people in Japan became
his fan.
In 2000’s we know all his movies,
unfortunately some of them turned out
to be a flop. It is not because of Rajini,
but because of the poor story |

line may be. This also shows that people in south
not only see a movie because of star power, but they
see story line and the visuals as well (some are exceptional).
After such a big hype, now comes Endhiran. Since I’m
in Delhi getting a ticket for Endhiran was not a big
deal. I went on the second day. Of course there was
a big queue; however I and my friends managed to get
the tickets then and there. I saw the whole movie
and I had not felt bored at all. But by the end of
the movie I felt something is missing. I was blabbering
to my friends that something in the movie was missing.
This kept my mind on hold for quite some time. I was
thinking ‘everything in the movie is good, what
then is missing that I have not felt satisfied’.
Then
one day I came to understand what actually the problem
is. It is not a usual Rajini movie with so many punch
dialogues and stylish actions which he normally does
in his movies. Endhiran is entirely different from
all his previous movies. It exposed Rajini as a real
person. It was more silent and smooth in the beginning
and by the end it kept everyone in awe. All these
happened without any punch dialogues and stylish actions.
It actually helps us to understand how this movie
is similar to Hollywood movies (If there are no songs).
But there are some things that could have been avoided,
like the duration of the movie by reducing a song
or so. But in the end it proves that people of small
community can make this world wonder, who are they?
Where are they? Where they come from? Indeed it is
a pride. So, after I figured out the problem, I saw
the movie again, I really felt satisfied. Endhiran
took the level of Tamil cinema to the pinnacle. One
thing more Endhiran has also created a new path now.
Whosoever wants to make such kind of movies will think
twice to make it perfect. What can be said more...?
Just wait to watch more movies like Endhiran.
Regards,
Asir Alex Reagan.
