M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi was the
first Tamil movie released with Asin as the protagonist.
The movie, a remake of Amma Nana O Tamil Ammai was a
big hit and Asin attracted everyone with her prolific
looks and her dance movements. The song Ayyo Ayyo in
the movie was a mega hit and Asin became well-liked
and an admired figure in Tamil film industry. Opportunities
poured in for Asin, but she was very cautious in choosing
her roles in the movie.
After settling the financial problems, Ullam Ketkumae
was released after a delay of one year. The movie recorded
good collections and Asin’s popularity grew faster
than what she had expected. The movie portrayed Asin
as a homely girl and her acting talents were evident
in the movie.
Although Jothika
is the number one heroine in Tamil industry, Asin is
no less, as she has become the busiest heroine , and
currently, she is acting with all the top heroes of
Tamil movie industry. Asin’s next expected release
is the movie Ghajini with Surya as the protagonist,
and her other movies include Sivakasi with Vijay, Maja
with Vikram and Godfather
with Ajith.
Asin is also expected to do the female lead role in
the remake of the movie Ghajini.
The movie is to be remade in Telugu and Hindi with Chiranjeevi
and Abhishek
Bachan acting as the protagonist.
Asin is going strong at the moment and if she is capable
of maintaining the tempo she will certainly reach the
zenith in a short period. As she is gifted with attractive
looks and excellent acting talents, all Asin needs to
do is to be choosy in her roles. With most of the heroines
staying for a short span of time in Tamil industry,
Asin is ready to change the image of the heroines in
Tamil film industry.
