Aishwarya
Rai
The
tall and ravishing Aishwarya Rai, known popularly
as Aish was born on Nov 1, 1973 and was the
runner up in the Miss India contest in 1994.
She was a student of architecture who pursued
modeling as a hobby. After winning the Indian
title she represented the country at the Miss
World contest held in Sun City, South Africa.
She won the title and that moment remains frozen
in the minds of many of her fans. She came back
to a hero(ine)’s welcome and for about
an year or two did only her contractual obligations
under the Miss World agreement. She first worked
in Mani Ratnam’s Iruvar and then onwards
there has been no looking back. |

She
has worked with leading heroes and talented
directors. Her versatility and the charm she
brings to her portrayals are her greatest assets.
She is currently working in prestigious international
assignments as well. Awards have come her way
many times and recently Holland honored her
by naming one variety of their national flower,
tulip, after her. |
