The movie was directed by Gangai Amaran and
he was also the producer. Distributors refused
to buy the film as they felt that the rural
setting and full length comedy would not be
acceptable. They were however proved wrong after
the movie became a big hit in 1989. The movie
ran for one year in Natana Theatre at Madurai
and Ramarajan bought the theatre after the Himalayan
success of the movie. |
