"Kaadal" Sadhya's Interview:

New face and homely beauty Sandhya caught on this exclusive interview...

New face Sandhya who pairs along with Bharath of "Boys" fame in Shankar's  "Kadhal"  caught on this phone interview for BehindWoods.

Q: In spite of the healthy competition to act in Shankar's film, how was that you got selected as the heroine of the film "Kadhal"?

Sandhya: One person named Mr.Manoj from the cine field is our friend. On one occasion he happened to see my photo album kept on the table when he visited my home. It had many snaps of me with many costumes. He asked me whether I am interested to act in movies. I had interest but I was scared to act in movies. I also didn't know how my family will react to it. My dad didn't object and so it happened.

Q: How did you feel when you met Director Shankar as Producer for this film?

Sandhya: I am a great fan of Shankar. There are many who long to act in a single scene of Director Shankar's movie. Director Shankar will reach to the top in production as well.

Q: Initially were you mixing studies with acting and did you have problem with the call sheet?

Sandhya: That is not true. When I got the chance to act in "Kadhal" I was doing my 10th standard. As the shooting started at once, I was not able to go to school. So I am studying at home.

Q: Have you lost any freedom as you have chosen the cine field?

Sandhya: Yes.... Previously I used to enjoy my days with my friends. Now as I am an actress, I am not allowed to move alone freely. As I get recognition and money in the cine field, I don't mind about sacrificing my freedom.

Q: In the beginning, u were not acting well. Did the Director scold you?

Sandhya: As I was made to act without having any knowledge about it, I wasn't able to perform up to the expectation of the Director. So I got scolding from him, I started crying and hugged my mother who gave me confidence. But I took it in the right sense and improved my acting skills. The same Director praised me in some scenes for acting well. I have learnt a lot in this film.

Q: In Tamil Cinema, the heroines can shine only by their glamour and dress reduction. What do you say?

Sandhya: I don't agree with this. Only if you hide something, people will have the interest to see it. Glamour is also like that. I think that, exposing yourself a bit has lot of glamour. If you expose everything, it will be vulgarity.

Q: So will you avoid acting glamorously?

Sandhya: If the character in a film needs glamour, I don't mind acting glamorously.

Q: Have you signed up for any other films after "Kadhal"?

Sandhya: Yes, I have signed up for "Koodal Nagar", and I am also acting in 3 more films for which the names are not yet decided.
