Tamil film producers’ association had mooted a new television channel called Tamizhthirai. It was inaugurated with much fanfare. It promised quality film-based mass entertainment. However, it did not proceed much further because it got mired in teething troubles and the promoters who were all busy professionals did not find the time to sort out the issues. Now the body is launching a new monthly magazine featuring film and trade news. R.K. Selvamani who was the man behind Tamizhthirai will be responsible for the content and editorial aspects of the magazine. The dapper director who has a penchant for good writing will hopefully run the show this time round. Best of luck, R.K.!
