Sasikumar is one director whose films always have a degree of social consciousness and he tries to raise awareness through this medium. In films like Subramaniapuram and Nadodigal, the emphasis was on the pitfalls that trap youngsters en route to maturity. In Easan also the director drew attention to certain modern societal evils. In Poraali, directed by friend Samudirakani, the situation in Sri Lanka will be the highlight.

Now the actor/director wants to make a film that deals with women's issues. He feels that women are overworked and under appreciated in our country and he wants to draw attention to the many crimes that are perpetuated against women. It is a wonderful idea on his part and if he pulls it off, his female admirers are going to multiply manifold.
