Divya Spandana is caught in the midst of a raging controversy. It all started when she refused to attend the audio release function of the Kannada film, Dandam Dashagunam. The producer, Ganesh filed a complaint with the Kannada Film Producers Association. Divya claimed that Ganesh had borrowed 10 lakhs from her and returned only a part of it. Angered by this, the actress stayed away from the function.
A ruling was made over this issue, and Divya has been banned from the industry for a year. Divya says that the KFCC’s ruling does not affect her in any way as she had already quit the Kannada film industry and she just wants her money back so she can close this awful chapter in her life. Meanwhile, the Karnataka Film Artistes Association are backing Divya to the hilt and have demanded an apology from Ganesh for failing to return the sum owed amounting to 3.7 lakhs. Does this mean we will be seeing more of Divya in our very own Tamil industry? We can only hope so.
