The Producers’ Council has decided to allow the release of star heroes’ films only on the five festival days from this year onwards. Small budget films are finding it difficult to get theatres and to bring this situation to an end, the Producers’ Council has devised this plan, said its Chairman SA Chandrasekar.
The five festive occasions earmarked for this are April 14th(Tamil New Year), May Day, August 15th, Diwali and Pongal. This decision will help the small budget films not only get theatres for screening but also have a longer run at the box office, said SA Chandrasekar.
